A day in our region Hall-Wattens

A Day Full of History, Enjoyment, and Crystal Magic

The Hall-Wattens region, nestled in the Inn Valley and surrounded by the Tyrolean Alps, offers the perfect blend of culture, history, and natural experiences. Especially for a short trip, this region is ideal as it offers both exciting destinations and charming places to relax. Here is my recommendation for an eventful day in our region.

Discovering the Old Town of Hall in Tirol

After a delightful breakfast, start the day in a relaxed manner with a visit to the historic old town of Hall in Tirol. The town, which once played an important role in the salt trade, has preserved its medieval charm. Stroll through the narrow alleys lined with well-preserved houses and small shops. On the way to the old town, you will pass by the first highlight – the Münzerturm, which is located right next to the old city wall. The Coin Museum is definitely worth a visit, and not to be missed is the tower, which offers a stunning view of the town and the surrounding Inn Valley.
Once you reach the center, take a moment to soak in the historical atmosphere of our charming old town. It's best to enjoy a coffee or an aperitif at Wurstkultur, right at the Upper Town Square, and watch the hustle and bustle of the people.

Crystal Magic in Wattens

In the afternoon, head to Wattens, famous mainly for the world-renowned Swarovski Crystal Worlds. This fascinating art and experience world is a must for any visitor to the region. The Crystal Worlds offer an impressive collection of art installations that showcase the magic and versatility of crystal in all its facets.
The Chambers of Wonders are a highlight of the Crystal Worlds. In these unique exhibits, created by renowned artists and designers from around the world, you’ll experience a blend of art, light, and crystals that become true sensory experiences. Particularly the Crystal Garden and interactive elements, such as the large play tower and the outdoor playground, make the visit exciting for children and families as well.

Dinner and Relaxation in Hall

In the evening, head back to the historic old town.
One of my favorite places is Die Bretze. Traditional tavern cuisine with a modern twist – simply delicious and highly recommended.
If you prefer a wider selection on the menu, then Gasthaus Goldener Löwe is the perfect address. The owner himself works in the kitchen and creates traditional delicacies for you. Enjoy not only great tavern cuisine but also excellent cocktails in the midst of the historic atmosphere.

If you prefer a different cuisine, we are happy to assist you with restaurant recommendations.

And don’t forget: When you arrive, ask for the guest card of the Hall-Wattens region. With the card, you benefit from free bus transfers within the tourism region, as well as many discounted entry fees for museums and attractions in the area.
